Day 1 - Arrival in Leh – Acclimatize
Arrive in Leh by land route or by air Spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening walk to the colourful market of Leh, visit Leh palace and fort
Day 2 - Leh to Korzok
Evening visit to Tsomoriri lake. Overnight in tents. The Tsomoriri Lake is a beautiful mountain bounded expanse of water, around 240 Kms. from Leh in Rupsho Valley. The Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. One can also visit the Korzok Monastery of 19th century that houses Shakyamuni Buddha and other statues. The Nomadic people are most outstanding feature of this Lake area, which graze herd of goats and yaks.
Day 3 - Acclimitising day at Korzok
Korzok (4572m)/Korzok phu trek to visit Nomad camps and and their animals and later trek back to Korzok. Overnight in tents. About Korzok village: Korzok is a small village situated 3 km from the northwest end of the Tso Moriri Lake. Most of the inhabitants of the Korzok are changpa nomads. At an altitude of 4572 m, Korzok is one of the India’s highest permanent villages. During the summers Changpas camp at various places in their robos (small tents) and look after their flock. Their sheep produce the famous pashmina, one of the costliest varieties of wool. Traditional weavers from Kashmir and Himachal buy this wool. The recent boom in its value has led to their prosperity, though that is not evident in their life-style. Korzok meaning is ‘Middle of the mountain’ and it’s an excellent location to enjoy the lake side. There is a monastery at Korzok which is believed to be about 500 years old. Korzok monastery lies on the traditional trading route between Spiti and Ladakh, it was visited by many of early explorers.
Day 4 - Korzok to Peldo
Start the Tsomoriri wetland trek 04 hrs to Peldo Altitude
Day 5 - Peldo to Kyurchu trek 05 hrs
Kyurchu alitutude 4770m
Day 6 - Kyurchu to Base camp (BC) trek 06 hrs.
Base Camp alitutude 5600m
Day 7 - BC to Advance base camp (ABC) 04 hrs.
ABC altitude 5780m
Day 8 - Summit and back to BC.
Summit altitude 6637 m – We start early around 3am. It takes around 4 hrs. to reach the summit. We get back to base camp at 5600m. Overnight at camp.
Day 9 - BC to Peldo camp.
6-7 hrs. trek to Peldo. Overnight at camp.
Day 10 - Peldo to Leh drive.
Last day the car will take you back to leh via Tsoker lake and Taglang-la pass (third highest motorable road). overnight in hotel.
Day 11 - Catch early morning flight for Delhi.
